Condado de Alhama is in the Region of Murcia. Located in the magnificent, virgin area of Valle del Guadalentín, Condado de Alhama is to be found between two Regional Nature Reserves: Sierra Espuña and Carrascoy-El Valle. It is a strategic enclave in the south east of Spain, between Andalusia and the Autonomous Community of Valencia, which boasts an advanced road network ensuring you reach the beaches of Águilas and Mazarrón on the Costa Cálida in only 15 minutes.



Mazarron is situated only 15minutes from Condado De Alhama. Mazarron actually consists of two main parts. Puerta del Mazarron lies on the coast, while the original old town of Mazarron, which grew as a result of the mining industry, is located a few miles inland. The latter has several historic monuments, such as Veles Castle, La Purisma convent, and the San Andres Church, notable for its fine Mudejar ceiling. The main tourist attraction of Puerto de Mazarron are the beautiful beaches that stretch along the coast from La Azohia to Bolneuvo. Puerta de Mazarron has a small marina with 200 berths, and an attractive seafront promenade lined with shops, bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlours. Although the resort is fairly quiet most of the year, it's very popular during July and August, especially with Spanish families. The town's economy still relies very much on the fishing industry, with tuna being of particular importance.
